Wasted Time…
The longer I live the more conscious I become about time, how quickly it flies by, and how much of my life is wasted on dealing with stupid trivial junk that doesn’t matter. And so I spend some of my time finding ways to avoid wasting it. I now have a telemarketer blocker on my phone. No more computer generated calls asking me to support a political party or donate to some nebulous cause. As a matter of fact, the phone seldom even rings!
We’ve also spent time downsizing our lives, moved into a smaller house, consolidated the assorted clutter accumulated over 35 years together. We are still unpacking boxes and trying to figure out what to do with this or that, but we’re making progress. Now the laundry area is right outside the bedrooms, so I don’t have to take clothes up and down stairs. Having everything on one floor is VERY freeing. And getting rid of excess stuff is an exhiliarating feeling, too. Less stuff to dush, to store, to keep up with and worry about.
We don’t have any more hours in a day, but now we spend more of it doing the stuff that matters.
