Values, or What’s it Worth to You?
It is said that the value of something increases with demand and scarcity. Rare and impossible to replace items, have an extremely high value. Items for which there is a vast quantity decline in value. That’s what’s happened with our money. The world market is saying they don’t want as much of it, and the Treasury keeps printing up more of it, and today it’s not worth much.
But it makes us feel more comfortable to say that the prices of things have increased. Rather than admit that our economy is swirling down the toilet bowl, it makes the public feel safer if we don’t say that our money is losing value and our economic system is headed for collapse. Don’t alarm anyone…that way nobody will do anything stupid like taking action to protech themselves and their property. Don’t tell the public that our government is throwing away our freedoms in the name of giving us more “security” and freedom from “terrorism.”
We should all realize what’s going on here. But like the erosion of our dollar, the erosion of our freedom gets little notice. It keeps getting sliced off a sliver at a time.We want to believe our government is made up of people who genuinely want to protect our American way of life. So we ignore the obvious signs of socialism, overlook the leaders who have long had close ties with socialism, even with communism. Maybe we figure it’s too widespread, like a cancer that’s moved into too many vital organs. We’ll just stay as comfortable as we can until the end…
